We perform anywhere our music is needed: cultural events, gallery openings, folk and other music festivals. Weddings, birthday parties, company parties, public readings. Celtic festivals, handfasting rituals, medieval fairs. Irish pubs, wine taverns. A selection of past gigs can be found here.
Spinning Wheel goes on a musical journey to Atlantic regions. In the music of Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Galicia and Brittany, Celtic influences can be heard. The result is a program with an acoustic caleidoscope of sound impressions, mellowed with lively Irish tunes.
Many of our instrumentals, but some of our songs as well are originally intended for dancing to. It therefore stands to reason to introduce our audience to a couple of dances before playing dance music.
Of course, love songs come to the fore at weddings. We can play during the ceremony, the reception and the wedding feast.
Celtic Harp Christmas
Once a year we have the chance to go through the treasure trove of Chrismas songs from the British Isles. This programme is characterized by tranquil and beautiful music, often accompanied by the celtic harp. Contemplative music without kitsch.
A traditional Irish folk song, performed by the band Spinning Wheel live at the culture club "Heureka" in Vienna. Inspired by Connie Dover.
